WebSpecifically, we have shown that the optical redox ratio, defined as the TPEF intensity of FAD/ [NAD (P)H + FAD], is highly correlated with mass spectrometry–based assessments of NAD + / (NADH + NAD + ), indicating that the FAD TPEF signal is in equilibrium with the cellular NAD + content ( 29, 30 ).
