WebSep 16, 2003 · on the bracket holding the cables to the frame, drill a new hole on the very bottom and move it there, the size hole is 1/2" if I remember correctly. won't give you a ton of length but can be a good band-aid for the time being..... Isn't the open end of cable (nearest the tensioner) longer than the YJ cable?

Brad said that he used regular solder 60/40, to solder THROTTLE cable. Would this be strong enough or would it be to soft for use with E-brake and clutch cables?
WebSep 13, 2016 · There is a small rectangular cut-out in the housing where you are supposed to be able to insert the cable end. Wondering if assembly is defective, and the cutout is too small. WebNov 22, 2012 · There is a cable tightener at parts stores. It essentially puts a u in the cable to shorten it up. You tighten a bolt until the cable gets short enough. This is not an appproved method but may work to extend the life of a stretched cable. Hit it with a hammer fairly hard to crimp it to the cable. Have been using the cable/crimped ends for 10 years or so and has never slipped.
